Nearly all events listed on our calendar are open to the public. You can visit during a Make & Take, an open house, or come to workshops and demonstrations. Some events and classes may have fees to cover instructors and materials. However, to use equipment you must be a member and have safety training.
Members can use equipment once they've demonstrated safe operation. This may be a simple safety protocol review for experienced users (like a carpenter on a table saw) or a longer process for novices (like learning to weld). Some equipment may require a class. Let us know what you're interested in and we'll connect you with someone trained on that equipment.
Please contact us to organize a donation. Wisconsin Makers is currently working towards non-profit status.
Members may bring guests to visit or see a project. Non-members may not use any equipment and must fill out a Guest Liability Form.
Because of our educational mission, many events are open to people under 18. We've hosted summer camps for kids and may allow minors to attend with a parent or guardian. Contact us if you're interested in having someone under 18 participate in an event.
While Wisconsin Makers as an organization cannot be hired to build projects, we may have a member (or know someone) who can help with your project. Contact us with details about what you need.
Yes! The large group area is available to rent. Bathrooms are available and the building is handicapped accessible. We have a large screen projector and computer, plus meeting rooms if privacy is needed. As a member, you can reserve the common area for your group once per month — contact us to add it to the calendar.
Visit our Equipment page for a list. We're always getting new equipment and have many small items that may not be listed.
